# Seedream 5.0 Pro image

Generate an original image from a text prompt using ByteDance Seedream 5.0 Pro, or EDIT one image you supply. Send image\_handles, image\_urls or image\_base64 with a single reference to restyle or retouch it; send none and it generates from the prompt alone. Editing costs exactly what generating costs. Returns the URL of the generated image. That URL is temporary: Goro holds a run's results for 24 hours and nothing guarantees the file outlives that, so collect what you need within 24 hours.
Use for controlled, realistic generation with strong portraits, dense information graphics and multilingual text in the image, one step up from image.seedream (the Lite model). quality basic is a 1K image, high is 2K. One reference image only: this model bills extra input images, so a second one is refused rather than quoted wrong.
## Price
**$0.07 per call at `basic`.** A flat price, and the only thing that changes it is `quality`: `basic` costs **$0.07**, `high` costs **\$0.14**.
Every one of those is exact and known before the call, so the hold and the charge are the same number and there is no ceiling to reconcile. Omit `quality` and you are billed the `basic` price. A call that fails, times out or is stopped releases its hold in full and costs nothing.

Do not downscale an image to fit here: use image\_handles, which takes up to 10 MB per file and keeps them out of the conversation entirely. JPEG, PNG or WEBP, checked against the file's own leading bytes rather than against any type you declare. Send one of the three, never two. |

These are all the fields this endpoint accepts. Anything else is rejected as
a `validation_error` rather than forwarded to the provider.
